What is included in the new software? What will it install?

Will I lose all of my bookmarks and email addresses?

I noticed that the new installation installs Microsoft Internet Explorer by default. Can I still use Netscape?

I would rather use another email program such as Outlook Express. Can I still use another email client?

I installed the new software, but my company has a domain name and my email doesn't still shows Cyberia's domain name in my email address.

Q. What is included in the new software? What will the new software install?

A. The first thing you'll notice is our new connectivity software. Our new software adds a much friendlier interface to connect to the Internet as well as keeping your most often used applications a mouse click away. The new software package installs newer versions of the Internet software we have provided our customers with in the past. By default, the software installs Microsoft Internet Explorer. However, because we know that many of our customers prefer the Netscape Navigator browser, we have provided Windows 95/98 and NT users with the opportunity to choose Netscape as your browser during setup by choosing the Advanced Setup. (Windows 3.1 and Macintosh users can download Netscape from http://www.netscape.com/)

We have also included a selection of Internet tools as well as other programs on the CD-ROM for the Windows operating systems that you can download off of the CD-ROM to your hard drive and install. These programs are not installed automatically, and are provided to offer you an opportunity to try these programs at your convenience.

Q. Will I lose all of my bookmarks and email addresses?

A. Under normal circumstances, you will not lose any of your Netscape Bookmarks, Microsoft Internet Explorer Favorites, or email messages or address book. What we have seen in cases where people had installed our previous software to a location other than the default location (or had since upgraded their software and installed to the manufacturer's default location) and their settings were not recovered during our software's installation. If you installed our new software and your previous messages are missing, the messages may not be lost. By default, the software installs Microsoft Internet Explorer, however because we know that may of our customers prefer the Netscape Navigator browser, we have provided Windows 95/98 and NT users with the opportunity to choose Netscape as your browser during setup by choosing the Advanced Setup. Q. I would rather use another email program such as Outlook Express. Can I still use another email client?

A. As in the past with Cyberia, you are welcome to use any email client you feel most comfortable with. If you would like help with the setup of some of the popular email clients such as Microsoft Outlook Express or Netscape email, please call our Technical Support Department and we'll be glad to help.

A. Not anymore. All of our lines have been converted to accept 56k connections.

Q. Is there an additional charge to access the 56k system?

A. No, any customer who has an x2 compatible 56k modem can register for access to our 56k system without any additional charges. Please visit our products & services page for current pricing information.

Q. What speeds can I expect to get?

A. Our testing of the 56k technology has produced mixed results. Many people have noticed significant increases in the speed of their connections and much faster download transfer rates. The 56k technology, however, is very dependant on the quality of your phone line and quality of the phone equipment installed by GTE in your area. In some instances we have customers with 2 phone lines in their home, and on one line they can get the faster speeds and on the other they cannot. We expect most customers to see significant speed increases, but we are unable to guarantee any connect speeds.

Q. Will I need to change any of my configurations to use the new 56k system?

A. No. The only change you should need to make is changing your system to dial the new phone number. When you fill out the form above we will set you up and email you with specific instructions on how to change the phone number. As always, If you do run into any problems, our tech support staff is available to answer your questions.
