York, PA -- July 25, 1997 -- Cyberia Communications, Inc. & The County of York Department of Information Services announced today that they have established a link between their networks in the One Market Way West building to give all county employees the ability to access the Internet from their workstations. The project, which was spear-headed by the County's Department of Information Services, was recently completed this past week when Cyberia finished installing and testing the connection and Internet hardware which will feed Internet traffic to the County's network.

"Having Cyberia located in the same building provided us the opportunity to easily connect to the Internet, without having to purchase the expensive leased circuits through the local phone company." Said Jeff Shiflett, the coordinator of IS technology for the County. "Cyberia has been great to work with! "The peak usage from the County will be during the day, which is the slowest usage time for our dial-up customers. Our customers will not notice any slowdown from having the County offices connected to the network. As always, we will be monitoring our network usage carefully, and just as we add more modems as needed, we are prepared to quickly add more bandwidth if and when needed."
