Cyberia Upgrades Connection to the Internet Backbone
York, PA -- August 25, 1998 -- Cyberia announced today that they have upgraded their connection to the Internet backbone. A new T1 line (an additional 1.544 Mbps) was connected directly into AT&T's backbone, making Sprint and AT&T Cyberia's dual connections to the Internet backbone. The new connection adds twice the capacity and full redundancy to Cyberia's network, ensuring that Cyberia customers will stay connected to the Internet, even if Sprint or AT&T has a problem.
"This is a great quality upgrade for Cyberia customers." said Tony Pantano, vice-president of Cyberia. "Our new connection through AT&T adds an additional level of insurance and comfort for our residential and business customers. In addition, customers should start noticing increased speed of their Internet connection within the next week as we begin to implement full load-balancing."
